Lately, I’ve been surrounded and a bit buried under the unlisted and unfinished original paintings and bright acrylic beginnings-underpaintings.
Today I’m taking you inside my studio to share what I’ve been working on lately: finished paintings, almost-finished ones, and a few pieces that are still arguing with me about what they want to become. Creating art is always a journey, and sometimes the most important step is simply showing it to the world… so here we are.

Finished Work That Finally Needs Its Moment
I recently finished a 20x16" oil painting inspired by Mount Monadnock and Gilson Pond in New Hampshire. It lived on my wall for far too long without photos or a listing (every artist knows this struggle). It went through a big transformation, new colors, new mood, new life—and now it finally deserves to be seen, so I’ll be photographing it and adding it to my shop soon.
Color, Flow, and Half-Abstract Daydreams
One of my favorite pieces right now is the 16x20" half-abstract landscape layered with a colorful underpainting in acrylics and finished with oils. There are reddish mountains, soft blue snow, and bright playful patches of color that make the whole painting feel alive. This one is almost ready for proper photos so it can make its way to my shop too.
The Big Bold Piece
Then there is “the elephant in the room”, a large 36x48 acrylic painting that has been living in my mind and my space for a while. It’s dramatic, fiery, and full of movement, like a sunset that wants to rebirth itself. I’m playing with the idea of a Phoenix-inspired title. And I need to restretch it before rolling for storage! Because of the size, it will be shipped in a roll.
Avocados, Flowers, Trails, and Quiet Moments
Yes, there are also avocados painting, peaceful New Hampshire rail trail, dreamy floral landscapes, trust-the-process diptych with textured trees, and atmospheric scenes you just want to walk into. Some of them only need signatures and photos. Some need patience. A lot of patience. And all of them make me excited to keep painting!
The Never-Ending Magic of Underpaintings
I also love creating abstract underpaintings and letting my imagination discover shapes, skies, fields, and mountains inside them. It feels like discovering hidden worlds. Some of these “almost paintings” already look beautiful as they are, half-abstract, breathing, and full of possibility. Sometimes the hardest part is knowing when to stop.
What’s Next
I’ll be finishing, photographing, stretching canvases, listing new originals, working on pet portraits, and continuing to chase that beautiful balance between control and chaos in art.
